This post is based on my YouTube video that provides a detailed walkthrough of setting up an automated social media posting system. If you prefer a visual guide, you can watch the full video here:

Now, let’s dive into the step-by-step process of creating your own social media automation:

Step 1: Set Up RSS Feed

  1. Create an account on Inoreader
  2. Add a new feed or follow a collection of feeds on your chosen topic

Step 2: Create a Make.com Scenario

  1. Set up a new scenario in Make.com
  2. Use Inoreader as the trigger to fetch one article per day
  3. Schedule the scenario to run daily at a specific time

Step 3: Summarize Content with Perplexity AI

  1. Use Perplexity AI to create a summary of the article
  2. Add a prompt to generate key takeaways and actionable advice
  3. Connect Perplexity AI to Make.com (requires API access)

Step 4: Generate Social Media Posts

  1. Use ChatGPT to create longer posts for LinkedIn and Facebook
  2. Create a separate module for shorter Twitter posts
  3. Include prompts with specific guidelines for each platform

Step 5: Schedule Posts with Buffer

  1. Connect Buffer to Make.com
  2. Set up separate modules for LinkedIn/Facebook and Twitter
  3. Add posts to the end of the Buffer queue for review

Step 6: Set Up Notifications

  1. Use Slack (or your preferred tool) for daily notifications
  2. Include the Buffer queue link and post content in the notification text

This step allows for easy review and editing if needed.

By following these steps, you can create a powerful social media automation system that saves time and maintains a consistent posting schedule. The beauty of this setup is that it runs on autopilot, but still gives you the flexibility to review and edit posts if needed.

You can use the free versions of Make.com and Buffer to get started. The only costs involved are for API access to Perplexity AI and ChatGPT.
