How to Repurpose YouTube Videos Into Text-Based Content

Key Takeaways:

  • Use Airtable, Make.com, and AI tools like ChatGPT, Claude and Perplexity AI to automate content creation from YouTube videos
  • Generate multiple blog posts, newsletter drafts, and LinkedIn posts from a single video
  • Customize and edit AI-generated content before publishing

This blog post summarizes my YouTube video where I show how to create multiple pieces of text-based content from YouTube videos using Make automation and different AI models.

You can watch the full video here:

The video shows how to repurpose YouTube content into different formats, such as blog posts, newsletters, and social media posts.

Here’s a breakdown of the process:

Step 1: Set up Airtable

Create an Airtable base with two tables:

  1. Content Calendar: For YouTube links and transcripts
  2. Links: For affiliate links and calls-to-action (optional)

In the Content Calendar table, include fields for:

  • Video link (URL field)
  • Transcript (Long text field)
  • Links (Linked to the Links table)
  • Status (Single select field with options: To Do, Generate Drafts, In Progress, Done)
  • Fields for AI-generated content (Long text fields)

Step 2: Create a Make.com Automation

Set up a new scenario in Make.com with the following modules:

  1. Webhook (trigger)
  2. Airtable – Get Record
  3. Airtable – Update Record (status to “In Progress”)
  4. AI Content Generation modules (multiple)
  5. Airtable – Update Record (final step)

Step 3: Configure Airtable Automation

Create an Airtable automation that triggers when the status field changes to “Generate Drafts.” This automation should use a webhook to start the Make.com scenario.

Step 4: Add Content to Airtable

To trigger the automation:

  1. Add a new record in Airtable with the YouTube video link and transcript
  2. Change the status to “Generate Drafts”

Step 5: Review and Edit Content

Once the automation completes:

  1. Open the Airtable record
  2. Review the AI-generated content
  3. Edit and customize as needed

Step 6: Publish Content

  • Copy the edited content
  • Paste into your preferred platform (WordPress/Webflow/Ghost and Buffer for social media)
  • Make final edits and publish

This automated process allows you to save time and quickly create multiple content drafts from a single YouTube video.
